Cigar of the Week
La Flor Dominicana La Nox
$11.99 (+10% off!)

Strength:  Medium-Full
Wrapper:  Brazilian
Origin:  Dominican Republic

Embrace La Nox

La Flor Dominicana is the full-bodied cigar lover’s dream come to life. The blends are incredibly full-flavored and packed to the gills with ligero, with a nice smooth flavor to back them all up. Litto Gomez and his team at LFD are certified Dominican Tobacco Geniuses, with each blend being better than the last. La Nox is the prime example of this, with more industry awards heaped upon it than you can shake a stick at.

With a dark and oily Brazilian Maduro wrapper, a Mexican San Andres binder, and the classic LFD Dominican ligero long-fillers, La Nox is certainly potent. There’s some weight to this one in the hand, and it shows in the smoke: you can easily get 90+ minutes from the Toro. The strength is off the charts, with cedar, leather, earthiness, an awesome spice, and a refreshing creaminess coating the palate. Do yourself a favor and scoop this one up.

Cigar of the Week
Namakubia Room 101 LTD
8.99 (+10% off!)

Strength:  Medium-Full
Wrapper:  Ecuador Habano
Origin: Honduras

Room 101 Namakubi is named after an ancient Japanese word meaning: freshly severed head. In times of old, when battling Samurai tribes would fight, the losing party’s head would be lopped off and given to the leader of the winning side (talk about cutthroat tactics). But luckily, there isn’t any carnage here, just another winning blend from Room 101. Hailing from the Camacho factory in Honduras, this limited-run cigar has all the right ingredients for a top-notch handmade. Greeting you from the outside, a carefully selected Ecuador Habano wrapper. Chocolaty-brown and boasting an oily sheen, this impressive leaf conceals a rich combination of Honduran and Dominican long-fillers. This medley of well-aged tobaccos strikes up medium to full-bodied mixture laced with nuances of pepper, cedar, leather and earth. Bar none, Namakubi is one of Room 101’s finest offerings. In fact, I can almost guarantee fans of Room 101 will be ‘head’ over heels for this one.

Currahee
Damn It Russia
10% ABV

Down in Kentucky and across the pond in Scotland, distillers who age their whiskeys for many years refer to the evaporation of the spirits from their barrels as “The Angel’s Share.” We couldn’t agree more. Each time a barrel is filled, a measure of liquid seeps into the oak and is lost for good. This striking Strong Ale is brewed with copious amounts of Caramel malt to emphasize the vanilla and oak flavors found in freshly emptied bourbon or brandy barrels. The beer spends a year in oak before it is packaged for release.

Cigar of the Week
Alec Bradley
Texas Lancero
8.99 (+10% off!)

Strength:  Medium
Wrapper:  Nicaraguan
Origin:  Nicaragua

Everything’s bigger in Texas!

In America, and growing rapidly across the globe, the demand for thicker, longer cigars has changed the shape of the cigar industry (get it?). Alec Bradley answers the bell with this new, ironically named behemoth of a handmade, the Texas Lancero. This massive, 7”x70 giant will set you in a state (get it?) of euphoria for what seems like days.

Along with its gargantuan size comes enormous flavor. A bevy of Nicaraguan, Honduran, and Costa Rican long-fillers plump up this monster before it’s all secured by a gleaming Nicaraguan wrapper leaf. A rich and spicy profile is supported by notes of citrus, leather, and nuts to create a delicious, medium-bodied profile you’ll want to burn for hours.  And thankfully, this big-ring beauty obliges and burns just about as long as you’ll let it.

Cigar of the Week
Ramon Bueso
Olancho-2005 Reserva
6.99 (+10% off!)

Strength:  Medium-Full
Wrapper:  Habano
Origin:  Honduras

This is the cigar that Ramon always wanted to make, and his passion really shines through. All of the tobaccos in this blend are absolutely flawless, aged, handpicked leaves, with each cigar receiving personalized attention and care. So what’s in this recipe? We’ve got an aged 2005 binder leaf from Talanga Valley, and a wide variety of long-filler leaves including selections from 2008 Nicaraguan Esteli, 2010 Honduras La Entrada, 2008 Honduran Jamastran, and 2003 Honduras Olancho. On top of all of that, the wrapper is a Colorado Oscuro Olancho, grown exclusively for this cigar. These leaves were purposefully fermented for a shorter amount of time than industry standard, and the experiment paid off with an absolutely unique flavor unlike any other cigar on the market.

Lighting this one up, I find a medium to full-bodied blend with blasts of earth, spice, leather, and cedar in a harmony that feels different than anything I’ve burnt before. Each cigar this guy puts out tastes better than the last, and with Olancho Vintage, we’re seeing Ramon’s finest work to date. I’d easily recommend this cigar to any enthusiast. Stock up, because with the rarity of these fine leaves, this is one limited release you absolutely don’t want to miss out on.

A triple threat.
If you want big, bold flavors, then you’ve come to the right place. Camacho often goes head to head with some of the most storied Cuban brands….and comes out on top time after time.
